Your thoughts on Diablo CAM etc. and other boxes!!

Hi all,

Have been lurking in the background, reading more and more about the Nannox box. I currenty have Technomate with Diablo CAM, which, till a few months back, showed all I could possibly want. With Digitalb going to conax 7 and the loss of the others, was looking for an alternative.

I know we cannot really discuss Nannox workings, but would anyone advise getting one? are they plug and play, or do you need to download images or flashes?? does it conect to a server? do I have to pay?

Had just got my head round motorised system and the cam, so my tiny brain is probably at its technical limit!! so in simple language please!!!

Hi wooper..
out of the box the nano or protek is nothing other than a fta box
but add 3 simple software files and it comes to life....
It then automatically connects to the server and gives you tons
of chanels on about 6 different sats....the server is totally free and you also can use the box to join other servers as well if you like...
i like you have a diablo and was happy with it till it went tits up
but out of every week you lost a couple of days waiting for new underworld files and data bins...this works all the time...and when new s/ware comes out its to improve things without interupting your viewing....when initially set up new updates can be d/loaded directly onto box....

you can cardshare with on your diablo mate using wireless!! no need for new box if you can connect to server with ur diablo!

Hmmmm, have the standard diablo, not the wireless.

If am honest, I need things simple in life, cold beer, curry delivered to the door, you know.

Terriers, the wait for underworld files, then loading then soft cams etc, simple enough I guess, but the box updates automatically, then thats ranks up there with cold beer with me.

Does the box come with instructions on how to conect to the server? I ask as have searched the net a bit but cannot find a great deal on the subject.

Well, looking around the Nanoxx 9500 has caught my eye.

That said, think I will wait till august and the new footy season kicks off before I take the plunge.

All the set up details I read look a little complex, but I guess will all make sense with the box infront. It always does.

As an aside, I pm'd Devilfish asking he it would be possible for a sub catergory for Nanoxx and similar.
