    Satellite Free - Dream Box

    Hi Guys

    After a whisky feulled chat with my father in law he revealed he is running DreamBox and only pays for his internet line which he has currently upgraded. For security reasons of his supplier he is not giving me further information. Is this possible? Can anyone shed light on the matter for me to explore this? I am based in Cape Town South Africa and we have here what is called DSTV. They charge a arm and a leg and the channels leaves much to be desired. The sport is about the only reason i have the package. Can anyone assist me or talk me through obtaining dreambox? I currently have a hd pvr and a exra view with a normal decoder. Please any tips or info will help. I am an auto electrician by trade and dabble in electronics so i shouldnt have a problem understanding. Thanks in advance

    if you were in the uk or europe you would have got some decent replies but as you are in S.A. the answer is "god knows"

    whilst you may be able to buy a dreambox and dish etc its knowing what is needed for your neck of the woods so you really need a forum that is in your geographical area

    as this forum is dot co dot uk you may find you get little or no answers, but that will be down to you being in the southern hemisphere and all of us in the northern hemisphere

      ok i know nothing but thinking with the modern boxes like vu you can add plugins and tsmedia portal and maybe on the dreambox tspanel a sort of iptv addon?

      :::: African IP TV ::::

      Tutorial: IPTV streams to add to the favorites list. Dreambox and VU + - YouTube

      use the transcript button to read under video as its in german .

        I dont think I would touch a dreambox anyway, especially a clone dreambox (they just dont cut it any more, have one myself but the vu are better)

        with a vu he can certainly try streaming with 1channel and icefilms etc, but as to what satellites and channels he can pick up he would have to check lyngsat or king of sat or fly sat

        than its a case of encryptions , decoding , dish sizes , type of lnb, all kinds of issues that only somebody in his area can advise on

        then you have to find out how to get the equipment shipped in, unless there are dealers in S.A. who do this, many suppliers may not ship to S.A.

            as far as i know in the vu you download plugins and it gives you many sections to access,extensions i see tsmedia,so would imagine it is the same for dm,download install reboot and ready to go.

              I assume the DSTV your talking about is the Multichoice africa package broadcast from 36? east, Its a great package but pretty much out of reach for us here in the UK due to the Sub Sahara African beam its transmitted on.

              Get yourself a Dreambox or any other E2 machine Vu+,Gigablue etc... and then have a word with the father inlaw again

                Wish I could get dstv, have to rely on sly for my rugby fix. I know what you're asking for but can't really say to much about it due to forum rules.
                As previously stated you neex to find a s.a forum on the subject, or have a word with the father in law.
