    broken bracket

    hi all wonder if anybody could help please,my motorised setup moved over night,so went to sort it out 2day,went to tighten up onto pole but threads are gone on the square bolt (ubolt), and cant tighten up, googled to buy another but cant find anywhere,thanks http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...&thumb=1&stc=1

    Hi, I'm assuming the threads are gone further up the bolt towards the U bend, if so, put one or two larger sized nuts onto the thread to take up the slack at the damaged part and buy a new 8 or 10mm nut (whichever is applicable) and tighten up again. Or, buy a length of 8 or 10 mm threaded bar and nuts and cut off to length and bend in vice to U shape but run nuts up thread to be used to prevent damage while bending.

      even easier take the damaged bar out and replace with bolts from B&Q simple as that they dont have to be U shaped as they just clasp the elevation bracket to the pole, If i remember they are M8 with 13mm nuts.

      Its always advisable to Grease the new set before you install them

          if you can measure the length of the actual bolt part, and the width between the bolts, on the broken U bolt, you may find them or similar on e bay
