hi there, i have a skybox m3 and i have dishes at 13 and 28, the 2 of them are wired into a diseqc switch now all of a sudden the signal is virtualy gone on 28, the only channel i can watch is ITV1HD, the snr on this channel is around 70% but when i change channels the snr drops to between 5 and 10%, i no its not an issue with the dish because i have a 4way lnb with feeds going to other rooms and all them are working fine with no signal issues, any ideas much appreciated.

Itv should be around 99. Check your connections and I'd you can get to it swap it to a different output on lnb. Don't forget to switch off power to boxes before you start messing cables. Remember coax carries enough power to drive a motor do can easily short of your diseqc switch. -
I don't know how an f3 is set up but i can tell you on a tm5402 if you don't change the settings to diseqc after putting on a new channel list only whatever sat that is connected to input 1 or input "a" on switch will workComment

I'm thinking diseqc is not likely to be blown and still sending a signal to a sat not on input 1 but more than likely you have screwed up diseqc settings in box. If it is a simple 4 way switch your box should be set to diseqc 1.0 with input 1 as 19, 2 as 13, 3 as 28 but christ knows why you have done it that way as it is always easier to remember if you go from low to high on 1 to 4 making it 13 on 1, 19 on 2, 28 on 3 and 4 spare with a cap on it to make sure no moisture can get into switch. Disconnect output from switch and reset box to 1 input sat only and connect up 1 sat and make sure it works on that sat then reconnect the same sat to input 1 on switch and it should still work without you changing anything on the box. if that works start to reconnect the sats to the switch and set box to diseqc 1.0 as I have already said and set sats to corresponding inputs in box as on switchComment

I'm just commenting on the above. Have you an lnb pointing at 19e? Some transponders on 13 and 28 are similar to 19 and looking at TPs on 19 will show signal being received.Official Meat-Head Fan Club Member (member number 14300)Comment

yes i have a monoblock for 13 and 19, i covered 19 with tinfoil and i got my channels back except some of the sports, did a rescan and got them back, then i put aj's channel list on the box and i lost hotbird, trying to install it manually now and its telling me no transponders, new to sat so sorry if im doing your heads in, i'll get there.....
ok i disconnected everything from the box and bypassed diseqc and then scanned and got all hotbird back, hopefully its just a reverse of what i did and be up and running againComment

Hold on. ....... are you saying that you have a mono block lnb for 13 and 19 going to a diseqc switch that also has 28 on it. If that's what your saying then it won't work as the mono block lnb has committed internal diseqc switch which can't be connected to a 4way committed switch. The only way you will get a setup like that to work on one box is with a twin tuner, having the mono block connected to one tuner and 28 connected to the other. Or with a simple a/b manual switch at the back of the boxLast edited by happy_highlander; 11 August, 2013, 21:51.Comment

yes i have monoblock lnb and 28 on diseqc switch, i was led to believe that the box was capable of cascadeing switches, and it does have a feature with cascaded switches in it but its complicated, i have 19 blocked off with tinfoil and just thirteen and 28 on the diseqc switch, i have ordered a twin lnb holder so when that arrives i will just put 2 single lnbs on the 90cm dish for 13 and 19 and that should solve my problems, i hope

The box will be able to run diseqc 1.1 which week allow more connections than you can possibly configure but it is the switches that aren't compatible with each other. Mono block is committed and so is 4 way (usually) but even if it was an uncommitted 4 way you would be trying to connect them the wrong way round as only the switch closest to the receiver can be committed which in your setup would be the 4 way.
And yes two separate lnb at 13 and 19 will solve your problem. Just set your box to diseqc 1.0 and connect the three lnb to 4 way switch as I explained earlier.Last edited by happy_highlander; 11 August, 2013, 22:18.Comment

HH is absolutely correct but there is a way to connect a monoblock to a committed diseqc switch and that is to place a 2 way power pass splitter in between the switch and the monoblock so 13 east would be say input 1 and 19 east would be input 2 with 28.2 as input 3, not ideal but it does work, as you have ordered a 2 way lnb holder and the corresponding lnb's then that is the preferred way of installing

thank you very much for all your help happy_highlander, top man......
thanks digicon, yes i have a tru spec dsu-2p power passing splitter and i had it wired that way but i was getting nowhere fast, twin lnb's is the way to go for a novice like me.
thanks for your help again guys.Last edited by ozshea; 11 August, 2013, 23:18.Comment
