sky magic eye - plenty on e bay , no they dont work on any box apart from a sky box (the proper sky official boxes, not the openbox-skyboxes)

you can buy the adapters to make them work like the global or similar , try a search on these forums as its been discussed many times before at great length

also, they are only used to turn the actual box over (they transfer the infra red commands so you can operate a box remotely over coax cable)

they DO NOT send video and audio signals from your box to the remote tv

    edit

to do both you need one of these

    TRIAX TRI-LINK KIT & MODULATOR 370407 - VIEW & CONTROL FREESAT/FREEVIEW/ SLY

If your box does not have a scart output then it should have some form of analogue output such as Phone - Red,White,Yellow which you can purchase a phono to scart lead to use with the Triax tri-Link

a tv has inputs, not outputs, and every tv has a tuner or tuners inside it

you are changing a scart or phono output into a coaxial rf signal the same as the sly box does, the tv has to have an analogue tuner inside it as well as a digital tuner, then you tune the coaxial rf analogue signal in using the analogue tuner on the tv to the rf incoming channel from the modulator (the same as is done on an official sly box distribution)

the eye is used in the opposite direction to send infra red to the vu or satellite box to operate it (normally this is rf2 on the sly box)

no hdmi or anything at all for this, just an rf signal converted from scart or phono at the box end and rf into the tv at the tv end (the vu boxes have scart and you can easily buy a cheap scart to phono adapter if needs be), with the magic eye also plugged into the aerial coaxial cable at the tv end

These are good. I've been using them for years.

I am sure with most boxes you could do it from your phone by logging into the web page of the box.... Saves all the magic eye remote control malarky.
