Vu+duo on the blink, in the market for a new box

    Hey guys,

I bought a vu+duo clone and after about 8 months it has packed in on me. It boots up then cuts out and eventually just gets stuck in a starting loop, sometimes it even doesn't turn on and just the red light light appears.

Anyways I was looking to get a new box(Linux), preferably a twin tuner that was reliable in terms of faults. I was thinking the amiko alien 2 would be perfect but having seen it run at a friends with the hd channel "judder" I have been put off massively!

A genuine vu+duo is out of my price range. At the moment I'm looking at ?200 and no more.

Alternatively are there any vu+duo repair sites that could bring my box back to life?

    Many thanks

It could be a power supply problem. There is a seller of power boards www.mixu-shop i think hes in hong kong.Give it a looky and see if you can get a board there.

You could try the c807 capacitor on the main board first.

TM 2T-OE is a good bet at just over ?200.
Same chipset as the original vu+ duo if I'm not mistaken.

The HD Judder on the Amiko is only on a few channels & only when used in Enigma2 mode. If used in Spark mode, the picture is perfect, one of the best HD pictures I have seen any box.

i think you should buy a8p sim card and i think we all must use the original receiver for long term use...
