which is why you are being advised to invest in a motorised setup then you can kind of future proof your viewing for a few years anyway theres more to satellite than ***, theres a lot out there

yeah I guess never having a motorised dish you dont see the whole benefits, add this to some old favorites on *** and then throw xbmc in to the mix or even just an icefilms /1channel plugin making plenty of variety.

Motorised is a strong possibility in the not too distant future. I think getting the box up and running 1st seems like the best place to begin though.

      advice has been great thanks

ok so I have one more question

when I add a channel list or a bouquet can I have more than one so for eg catseyes then maybe autobouquets or rats so I have a couple running to add redundancy?

that way is one dies I have a second right there ready to go to.

I am a lot clearer in my mind now what I want immediately from this and in the future.

I had my head turned briefly by the vu+ prismcube but now I'm absolutely soled on a vu+ enigma2 machine as it has huge amounts of support and info already and available.

thanks so much for your advice so far I really am going to act on the motorised dish once I am competent with the box.

you can only have one channel list on the box, but if you use black hole images you may be able to use the universe option to have different "universes" with different settings in each one

oh cool didn't realise you could have different universes sounds great

I am really looking forward to trying this out the more people tell me and the more I look in to things. I can already see why people prefer this to a run of the mill sky box.

            thanks again ramjet.

You have many choices for vu+ with obviously the most desirable being the duo2 with a price tag to match it's potential. I have been a very happy solo user for the last year or so up until yesterday when my uno arrived and I haven't looked at my poor old solo since. The uno is not a patch on the solo2 or the duo2 but for not much more than a solo the gulf is a mile wide between the two boxes and with the same plug and play tuner as the ultimo and duo2 you can change your box from single tuner to twin for about another 60 quid later on if you decide to stick with it, so don't rule out the quiet one of the vu+ range
