I want to install a motorized system my location requires a dish elevation of 22-29 degrees should I consider a offset dish and why For example if I got a 22 c offset dish would I still need to adjust the elevation also what LNB would I need 0.1 .2 .3 and are the superjack dg 120+ any good does it have metal gears thanks in advance.

why would you want an offset dish..?? I've only really seen them on the continent.. Cyprus, Germany, Greece
all dishes require an elevation of some point..
The 22 degree offset means that the beam comes off the dish at an offset angle of 22 deg. With the feed at the lower edge, this means that the beam comes off the dish at a 22 deg angle upwards. So if the dish reflector itself is vertical, the beam elevation angle is 22 deg.
Get a 0.2db LNB they are considered the best.. some LNB's have claimed values as low as 0.1 but it's unlikely that this is a true and reliable figure
I've got a Technomate TM-2200 Super.. that has metal gears.. its great

I'm still learning I thought a offset dish would reduce the elevation and didnt like the ideal off a up turned dish, slowly i'm get snippits of information from here and there some correct and some times confused from youtube, but i'm slowly getting there with help from you guys at kaos cheers.why would you want an offset dish..?? I"d keep it simple to start with mate most generally available dishes are the offset type and any universal LNB and diseqc motor like the TM2300 will give you good results.
The motor and dish elevations for your latitude should be found in the motor instructions. Id stay away from polar mounts until your more into it. once you have found and stored your 1st satellite the rest should be easy.Last edited by dick b; 24 June, 2009, 10:53.Comment
