    Satellite splitter question.

I need a sky satellite splitter to to pickup freesat in 2 b/rooms. I have been looking everywhere for a 2 or 4 way splitter. This what i am wondering about. If the sky cable is dual core and 1 of these cables are for hd and i don't know what the other one is for. why can i not find a splitter that will connect both cables in and then 4 coming out. I understand the one input for cable but how would i do it with sky. I need help guys , i only have a few days to sort this out.
Thanks for your replies and help.

You should NOT try and split a satellite feed, You should instead have 1 feed or 2 feeds if a dual tuner to each box

The 2 cables allow you to record 1 channel while watching another ($ly+ boxes have 2 tuners). It's got nothing to do with HD.

As digicon says, you cannot split a satellite feed, as the LNB needs control signals to select the 4 different modes that an LNB works on (lo band H, lo band V, hi band H, hi band V). If you split the signal to 2 different boxes, then there would be conflict.

If the 2 boxes you have need 2 feeds each, then you need to connect another shotgun (2 wire) cable to the LNB.

If the boxes only need 1 connection each, then simply connect 1 cable from each of the current shotgun cable to each box.
