My advice would be to save up...... If you want twin tuner, the VU Duo or Et9000 / 9200 are the ones you should be looking at.

These boxes are reliable, well supported, and do much more than your average sat box. They easily do full 7 Day EPG's, timeshift (pausing live TV), and also record one channel and watch another (Sly +)....

It all depends on your needs, HD / SD, Twin Tuner, E2 open source?

How about the TM-2T-OE. Heard very positive feedback on this, and it's basically the same as a vu+ duo.

i have also heard tm don't supply new drivers for the tm boxes so i would think you would be better of with the vu,xtrend, you can get a xtrend 9200 for 239 euros from germany plus 15/20 euros postage which is a good price for good twin tuner box, try looking at xtrend-shop.de

Out of the 2 receivers, I would say the Extrend is the best - but then again I am biased.. I have had one with no probs at all.... The 9500 looks really good, very good looking STB.

Also, I haven't heard of clone ET receivers but there are shed loads of clone VU's about.

go for it m8 thats a great price for the 9500,also the 9500/9200 take full size hard disksi also think xtrend are doing something to beat the clones at there own game, they released the et 4000 at a price and spec that wipes the floor with the clones, maybe thats what vu are needing to do then people would not be so quick to buy the clones!

Was talking to a guy on ebay he has a vu duo twin tuner and hes from my home town
Hes arranged for me to go to his house to see it today lunchtime if I buy it and im not happy he says hell take it back ?210 with a 1tb hdd fitted
Its second hand but says only been on once or twice
Now the burning question is how do I tell if its a clone

I dont know how to tell if it's a clone - however, there is a thread on here somewhere on how to tell. I bought mine second hand about 2 years ago and it hasn't been a problem.

For a ?150 the Alien 2 box is pretty good.

Maybe not quite as fast as some but overall it's a good piece of kit for the money.

a box might be great with all the bells and whistles but with no support is where you get let down.
