There is ESPN america. Its most likely that in the next few weeks the broadcaster will add a channel specifically for football

Espn America can be got on 19e using C/S it will be the same channel as and when added to the 28e epg.

Premiere are due to change subscription costs epecially for Spots portal and other Sports channels on there service as they change over to been Sky Deutschland on the 6th of July...

If ESPN America are to broadcast premiership on 19e there will be no need for Premiere Sports portal or Sky Deutschland Sports portal to do so ! saving themselves money, but will know doubt increase the cost of subscription for this particular service for those interested in EPL...

The cost of Sports Portal on premiere is to increase drastically for german subscribers and for the first time subscribers will have to buy neary the full SYK / Premiere package to subscribe to the sports channels increasing the cost from 30 euro a month presently to neary 60 euro a month just to get the Sports, What I am trying to point out is Geram subscribers are not going to be mutch bothered if EPL matches are broadcasted if they have to pay far more to view these matches...

So I think it will be fair to say that ESPN on 19e will be showing Epl matches if you are still unable to view when launched on 28e....

ESPN america and classics is already available on 28.2e on my sly+ box alun m8, so it remains to be seen if they'll add a new channel just for the footy or leave it as it is

They say they will be a new channel alun on
both america and classic are on 28.2 now.
At present its only sat tea-time games,, why would premier throw away there 3pm kickoffs etc?,, they will probably have the rights for some of them anyway!.
                boom!

Because its was actualy Arena that originaly bid to rebroadcast live EPL & Bundesliga on sports portal, but arena virtualy went bankrupt and Premiere picked up the tab saving arena but also ended up sharing the rebroadcasting rights between both operators untill 2009.

Its more than just a name change for Premiere taking place in july to Sky Deutschland not only are they to stop brodcasting Arena channels and Sports content but the Sports portal is supposed to be changed into regular Sports channels carrying there own content showing every Bundesliga match live untill 2012 (As in the past Arena showed 50% and Premiere broadcasted 50% )

What is interesting is that Sky UK do not broadcast live Serie A nor Bundesliga even though Sky Italia and Premiere/Arena have links with Rupert Maurdocks NewsCorp... but leave it to other operators to rebroadcast..

To date neither Premiere nor Sky Deutschland have bought television rights for the upcoming 2009-2010 Epl from the Premiership rights holders this could of course change once Sky Deutschland is launched...

just found this on a espn web link

According to The Guardian newspaper, ?ESPN has also reached a distribution deal with BSkyB, which will screen the Premier League games it was awarded today from next season and beyond. The US company said it had reached an agreement with Sky, but would also make the games ?widely available across multiple pay-TV platforms?. ESPN added that the Sky deal was a ?first step? in its distribution strategy, which suggest that further deals with cable operator Virgin Media, and other digital TV operators including Freeview are likely to be struck. ESPN also said that as part of the Sky arrangement, BSkyB would make games available to ?commercial customers?, which implies that the pay-TV giant will sell games to pubs on ESPN?s behalf. Sky had a similar arrangement with Setanta.?
