    Bookies satellite dish

Hi My pub is adjoined to a betting shop and they have vacated the building and moved to new premises
They have left one of those big grey satellites you see stuck on bookmakers
Rather than asking them to remove it can I use it for the pub
I have a 1.1 motorised dish and find it hard to get above 65% on some channels that I need on 23.5e
I was thinking of pointing it at 23.5e and having a fixed dish and connect it to receiver when required
My worry is it has a different type of lnb it is held on by struts from the dish and larger than normal lnbs
Would a normal receiver pick up the signal from it?

The Dish can be used but it is more than likely either 3 variety's of the Channel Master dish used for Bookmakers so could either be a 60cm, 90cm, 100cm and on a very rare occasion could be the 1.2m CM.

The LNB will need to be removed but as it uses the feedhorn this also maybe a problem it could be the 23mm Feedhorn holder or it could be the standard 40mm which if it is then you can just swap it out with a regular LNB

    Good luck

They are usually on 5E swing so swing it to 23.5E and see what you can pick up.

There is a long run of cable coming from lnb can I not just put a f plug on end of cable and use the lnb that is on it

Try it and see thats the only way you will find out, As mentioned they are usually on 4.8? east for the SIS feed so as you turn it round you will need to alter the elevation angle and the skew on the LNB
