Don't know why motorised dish to buy?

    Hey guys
    I need some help.
Im looking to buy a motorised sat dish but having difficulty on which one to buy, im in the UK if that helps,
What channels can i get when comparing a normal sly dish to a motorised dish? can i get aljazeera sports with a motorised dish? What other channels can i get? i have about ?150 to spend in my paypal account so would prefer to buy off ebay so i can use the money in my paypal account, been looking at this page motorised satellite dish | eBay

but there all different prices which i dont get why?
    Thanks in advance

I would assume you are asking about the al jaz channels on 26e or 7w and you wont get them without a massive dish here in the uk, so you will need to forget about those

the triax td110 dish or a gilbertini or andrews or something similar is good for most stuff here in the uk bearing in mind the maximum size allowed is 1 metre without planning permission, subject to local bylaws

you can check what sats and channels you will get using dishpointer and king of sat or lyng sat for broadcaster info

also have a look at this thread here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-setup-301108/ for various info

you would be better with separate's so you can get a half decent system instead of buying an all in one package that may have 1 or 2 good items

Dish: Orbital Steel 1m 100cm Satellite Dish Brand New with Lifetime Warranty | eBay

Motor: Superior Dark Motor All Metal DiSEqC USALS | eBay

LNB: INVERTO BLACK ULTRA HIGH GAIN SINGLE LNB 0.2DB BUYME | eBay

Total : ?112 or there abouts

Also factor in the cost for a wall mount or if your going to get someone in to fit it you may be better letting them get the Mount for you.

      Regards

Thanks for the reply guys, so if i buy what u suggested above then all ill need is a wall mount is that correct? also does it have to be really high up (the dish) or can i put it above my living room window etc? Also what about this 80cm MOTORISED SATELLITE DISH DiSEqC 1.2 MOTOR + 02 LNB | eBay does this have everything i need etc?

usa channels are aimed at the usa so you wont get much here in the uk

already given you 2 sites that you can check broadcaster details from your location, and dishpointer will let you check what can be received for your postcode by hanging a dish on your property and checking line of sight from each satellite (this forum has no way of knowing what obstructions are in the way for you)

also you need to not be talking about sly - please read the rules here

Most of that is cheap tat dont get me wrong if your on a budget and want to be thrifty with the wallet then go ahead but personally would not touch that with a barge pole

An 80cm the system you quoted will get you a lot of satellites but do not expect miracles thats all i am saying

On my details on dishpointer heres what it says:

                      Address: My address
                      Latitude: my latitude
                      Longitude: my longitude?

                      Satellite: 82W, 91W, 110W, 119W
                      Elevation: -12.8?
                      Azimuth (true): 95.5?
                      Azimuth (magn.): 98.1?

Where it says satellite does that mean what sats i can receive?
sorry for all the questions bit of a newbie with installations but fast learner once i get going

what about leads etc cause in the one i suggested it shows that it comes with leads so would i need to buy leads as well etc?

on dishpointer you can select each satellite in turn , or you can set the range of satellites that you may be able to receive , so say from 42e to 45w for instance

ideally use T-K brackets and scaffold pole for mounting, and yes you need sat grade coaxial cable to connect to the motor and lnb

you can have the dish on the ground if you so wish, height is not an issue unless you have obstructions like trees and walls and buildings

Just so i got this right?

                            On dishpointer you got

Your location: here i enter my postcode

                            Then under that:

Most Popular Satellites in country flag
                            1. 28.2E ASTRA 1N | ASTRA 2A | ASTRA 2D | ASTRA 2F
                            2. 13E EUTELSAT 3C | EUTELSAT HOT BIRD 13B | EUTELSAT HOT BIRD 13C
                            3. 19.2E ASTRA 1KR | ASTRA 1L | ASTRA 1M | ASTRA 2C
                            4. 16E EUTELSAT 16A
                            5. 26E ARABSAT 5B (BADR 5) | BADR-4 (ARABSAT-4B) | BADR-6

                            Then under that theres this

All Satellites | Motorized Systems | Multi-LNB Setups:

then under that its a drop down menu,
If i click on motorized systems the drop down menu changes, when it changes and i open the drop down menu is that all the satellites i can receive??
