Which Triple Tuner box

The Quad comes with 2 Fixed DVB-S2 satellite tuners as standard and then has 2 Plug & Play slots for your other tuners if required so if your going to have 4 Satellite tuners you would have to order 2 more Plug & Play Sat tuners at around ?30 each to make it a full Quad satellite receiver.

I looked at that one on EBay but they wont deliver to the uk. I understand t need to get two more sat tuners is there a choice or just one sat tuner available as there was two types available when I got my dream box.

The Gigablue Tuners are available again from ebay or any other stockist that have the Gigablue

Thanks for that will be using the shotgun cable as it is a lot cheaper and easier to rout around the house. As you can see from my questions I am still a it of a novice. This is the box I have been looking at on EBay Giga Blue HD 800 Quad Hybrid HDTV Linux HbbTV LAN Receiver DVB-S2 PVR HDMI | eBay have I got the correct box as it states its a hybrid and I understood it was not which digicon stated. What type of tuners would you recommend we watch a lot of satellite but the Mrs likes to record her soaps every week e.g. east enders and cori. Thanks for all your patience and replying to my questions.

thats the supplier who i bought it from, must say its a cracking box for the money, if the wife likes soaps get one of the terrestrial/cable tuners and then she will be happy

Just been reading a review GigaBlue HD Quad Review | Linux-TV.com from October 2012 have these faults been resolved or are hey still outstanding does anyone know.

The bad
We have to say though that there are some things yet to be fixed which is normal for a brand new product like this. The main thing is picture quality where there must be some driver tweaks to come.

The picture quality has been improved with the latest drivers later than 25.10.2012 but still not as good as Vu+.
HDMI CEC support is also not ready yet and in fact I noticed this receiver blocked HDMI CEC working between my Plasma TV and AV Receiver. Hopefully this can be fixed soon as this is a deal breaker for me. Carefully I did manage to cover pin 13 with a piece of tape which prevented it. A HDMI cable without pin 13 connection should also fix it but this should not be needed.
HbbTV is another promise made by Gigablue a bit too soon. There is no support for HbbTV or webbrower right now and no firm timetable as to when it will be available.

They are not the easiest box around to learn from scratch, but once set up correctly , the Amiko's do work pretty well & do what they are meant to do being a twin tuner. The latest E2 image from the pkt team has fixed the HD judder & is rock stable.

The Alien 2 is now an excellent receiver ,PKT Hyperion 3 is a great E2 image,it took a while to get there but they delivered the goods in the end.
Its rock solid now and supports most plugins.
I have all of the following plugins working perfectly ,Cool Epg,Autobouquets,Cross Epg,1channel,icefilms,autotimer,iptv listupdater,Mediaportal,Rte player,TSmedia,Rats Picon updater ,Rats Bouquet updater,Navi bar,TMDb Info,Virtual Zap.
Great piece of kit now for 150 euro .

Yes, the Alien 2 is a much better box now since the HD Judder was fixed, most of the recent E2 images are rock solid now.

If your talking about Cams then please try and code it simply due to Forum Rules, So if the cam is installed that begins with the letter 'C' the you need to FTP and open the /etc folder in there you will find a file called C*****.cfg which is what your looking for.

Just a tip if this is your first Linux receiver to edit these types of file use Notepad++ which is free and also is 100% better than Windoze Notepad

Thanks for the reply I have done everything the same as my Dreambox but my normal channels will not work FTA are ok everything is installed as per dreambox more or less just wondered if the gigablue was all that different or have I missed something simple.

Nope same both run Enigma2 and files folder structure are nigh on 99% identical

Thanks for your input problem solved feel a right pleb had the wrong softcam installed new it was something simple think I need to do a lot more studying.
all I need to find out is what softcams can I use with the vix image.
