1... Virgin if you in a cable area.

2.. BT infinity for everywhere else

3.. stay away from the cheap offers (talk talk etc..) and SKY Broadband, it's sh*t

If you are stuck with standard ADSL then as i have said it a thousand times before its not the speed that is relevant its your Ping result the lower the better.

as an example an ADSL line with a Broadband speed of around 2mb but a ping time of around 25ms will perform better than a Fibre connection at 100mb if its ping time is around 300ms

Its not the speed of the line its the quality that you require for the sole purpose you are intending it for.

Virgin for me never had a problem use to have BT years ago before all this infinity etc and wasn't impressed with their customer service and the broadband quality, but ive been told it's improved a lot since then.

I am exactly the Opposite had Virgin for a couple of years what a nightmare poor performance and the Throttling your speed management is ludicrous with ping times at peak reaching over 3-400ms

BT on the other hand i dont see any form of Throttling as i dont use P2P and my ping never goes above 15ms.

at the end of the day its whoever your most comfortable with.

i'm now with BT and find it very good. and there's no
infinity in my area and they say there is no date for it
i was with aol for years without a problem, then when talk talk
took aol over in the uk it was a nightmare very poor keep away
            from them.
