    which box to buy next.

Skybox f5 not good enough-What to buy next??

Hi guys. the skybox f5 performs well but has a near none-existant EPG. What i am trying to find out is which box would suit my needs. There seem to be pros & cons with each type of reciever.
    I would like a good picture(like the F5)
a 7 day epg with a recording facility that really works. (something like cool tv guide).
    for a fixed dish 28.2.
    twin tuner.

the Vu range is very expensive so im looking for a cheaper alternative.
boxes recommended are amiko alien 2 and technomate.
there seems to be mixed feelings towards the amiko and im unsure if technomate are any good.

Any advice would be great and if anyone can recommend make & model even better.

there have been dozens of the same question asked on this forum in various threads

as you say, buying a vu is the best option

but have a look at this thread here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...er-box-376335/

vu duo , duo2 and solo2 , tm twin and gigablue are some of the options , also a vu solo (or maybe its an uno , cant remember) and add a twin tuner module

there have been plenty of discussions on here so a good search may help as you are definitely not the first to ask these questions and you wont be the last either

buying cheap you landed on a skybox, dont make the same mistake with a twin tuner, remember a box having good support like enigma2 boxes will always be better than unknown or non supported/closed source boxes.
i made my choice for going for the vu range, solo single tuner, duo twin tuner and a solo2 twin tuner both with internal hdd for recordings.

so the vu range seems the only way to go.thanks for the reply.
          i agree the f5 box is crap.Q
is there nothing inbetween any other twin tuner boxes that support enigma 2?

as I said earlier, and you seem to have ignored, there is the tm twin or gigablue , which are derivatives of the vu duo, and importantly , not clones

some more informative threads here, including makes and models

so as I said earlier, the questions has been asked and answered many , many times already

vu , tm and gigablue are the best choices and we already know what cheap boxes fall down on, including the skyboxes and openboxes

                buy cheap, you buy twice
