you could remove the hdd if its a sly plus box, or you could use it to view freeesat channels on 28 east, like BBC and ITV
Cheers, would it still be functional as it was before (pause rewind record etc?), plus I have a communal dish and wasn't able to have two sly boxes would this still be possible as I have an f5 in one room already? Cheers

no , it needs a subbed card in it so you have to pay for the plus features like recording etc, so no sub means no it wont do anything other than receive channels like a normal box
