My Dreambox 800se tuner looks like it has died - What's the best Sat box to go for ..

Yeah it looks like my dreambox tuner has completely died after nearly 3 years, is it worth trying to change the tuner or getting a better Sat box which offers more functions than my current incumbent ?

My choices without knowing to much about the functionalities of the boxes are the Prismcube as this has XBMC or the Vu+ Duo2 which ever since I got my dreambox was the only brand most ppl agreed was the best.

i would stick with the old dog new tuner ?30 ?.

if buying new, a VU linux box would be one of the best to go for, alternatively a tm or gigablue linux box may also be considered too

Ok I've found one which seems ok. Just a quick question though.

I only currently have one SAT cable going to the dreambox so my dreambox with single tuner is fine for now as I'm unable to add another cable to record one channel and watch another.

The tuner I've found is a Single input Tuner with loopthrough, is there any benefits in getting this and with it work in my dreambox?

You will have to drill 2 holes in the back plate, to fit it don't worry about the out this is used when dm is in standby another box can be used or buy one for ?30 from china
