Channels are there but their not???

Anyone able to shed some light on why 3 channels in particular namely comedy Central (sd), nickelodeon +1 and id+1 are scanning in and registering signal but no picture or sound is forthcoming. I can pick up another comedy central so that's no biggy (unless using autobouquets of course) all other channels on the same tp are fine. wtf are they up to. First premium hd on italia now this mmmmm

without going into great detail but the same problem happened with RTE1 & 2 a few weeks back and now the same with the channels you mention above, do a google search and you will find all the answers but it appears this is something new and the MPEG4 new encoding method being employed on 13? east if rumours are true is also on its way. maybe tey where a test bed and now its time to deploy in the UK

All the channels mentioned clear with an official sub, they also eventually clear by other methods. Sky Sports HD 2 also seems to be having the same issue.
It seems to be getting stranger by the minute as the new encoding on 13e was only meant for the HD Channels I thought.

No issues here on ssp2 hd. This is getting strange that not everyone is effected in the same way.

I dont know if this is related to what you are saying about RTE 1 and 2 but people on Saorview (Irish box) were, in the past few weeks, asked to rescan their boxes as changes were been made to channel line ups.

No offence to the multitude of newbies to this game but these changes (if permanent) will wheedle out the plug and play brigade. Those who are just after cheap tv will look for something easier and those who wish to learn may find a way around this and if it is found is likely to be kept close to the chest. My personal opinion on this is that it has been hung way to far out into the open in the last 12 months or so and has forced the bigwigs to act against it.

From what I read on another forum and concerns what we are not allowed to talk about here, all they have to do is Update to the latest O*C** and they should clear.

At the mintue there are only 2, ID+1 and Boomerang +1 that don't clear, well for me anyway as I had SS HD2 on another transponder on my list which is working 100%.

But most wont bother or they wait until its spelled out to them in easy to read Grammar or even spoon fed to them before they do anything.

If you are running closed source box like tm5402, bm7000, f5,3 and the list goes on then forget it until someone can be bothered to sort them. If you are running open source and can be bothered learning then you need not wait on any bloodsucking leaches as digicon has so eloquently put it. To put it simply I don't have any problems with any of the above mentioned channels anymore

Majority of us are leeches open source or not. Just some make vast amounts of money some just get free tv.

Open source to most of use doesn't mean a lot, we all think because we use E1 & E2 images we use open source but in reality its the likes of RD and other on here that actually make or alter images for boxes that the real meaning of open source is used.

The minuet we use our card in another receiver and gain in some way we become the same as payservers imho

You missed my point entirley, which is the small minority of people who already know about this problem also know of the fix its the kind of people who post now and again who have a problem and want an instant fix because there TV is a blank screen they simply want an easy and quick fix without ever contributing back into the community.

Open Source precisely which is why anyone can access the Gits and compile there own image or even create there own plugin if you so wish even if its just to fix something that may have been problematic for a while its all there in black & white with a little learning i am sure most could struggle through the basics.

I dont agree with the as soon as you use your card in another receiver you become classed as a payserver, Most actually do this so they can break away from the confines of an official crippled box in there view and use something to how they would want a receiver to be in the first place. The Actual words Card & Sharing where a hobby many years ago people exchanged there card for another free of charge, Yes in a way it is breaking the law but when someone uses a card in a way that makes them a small tidy profit every month this is the type of scum that wants spoon feeding every little fix here and there and then sit back and reap the rewards you see them all over Ebay and Gumtree.

Its all water under the bridge now as the bubble has burst so to speak and now the providers have had there hand forced which is resulting in different types of measures to block absolutely everything.

Dont get me wrong the serious enthusiast is just lapping it all up as this has been on the cards for the last 2 years or so as soon as everything does go Dark it wont bother them it will however kill the Plug & Play brigade which is the main root cause of everyhting in the first place " I want it now and I want it Cheap"

No I do get you point and the mass influx of people wanting spoonfed is annoying. I agree with you on that. But think about it the info we get or the cams we use, most aint got a clue how they work or are made, we just ftp a file and it works. So the plug and play guys are what we are to the devs. Noobs who take no interest in who they make it nor have a ability too but we still use it just the same. as the films goes its just a big Layer Cake and each layer proclaims superiority over the ones below.

The only ppl this will hurt is the ppl that only use the card on a 3rd party box and say only shares a european card with 1 to 1 access. How many ppl on here do that ? but how many ppl allow access to more than one individual who does not share a card back ? I would say less than 1% So my point stands.

Yes the plug and play brigade do exhaust it and tip it over. The irony is tho for years ppl bang on about free knowledge and open source yet once ppl get that knowledge they want to keep it and not let others have it.

You hear the calls of the enthusiast saying if a fix is found it would be kept underground, so you have to laugh at it all.

Crazy as it all is, if sly brought the full package down to ?50 a month I would happily pay for it but instead they probably spend millions swapping out boxes and to NDS for more security measures.

I honestly think unless sly go cardless then there will always be away to read the card. the money invested in this market would see to it.

What do you think would happen to the 3rd part receiver market ? their boxes are already silly priced, so a reduction in sales would end them. Even China has a massive vested interest.

But we have been waiting since the rumour reared its head last Oct and we can enjoy it for now.

I agree with you while heartedly about your point on the prices that sly charge but that is exactly the point digicon is making. This hobby is not about stealing sly, yes it happens but how blatantly is being done is what is killing things. How many new members have there been recently who have just bought a box with a so called gift and plugged it into the existing sly dish. Very few of them have actually taken the concept of Sat tv and ventured into the big old sky and most couldn't ftp a file of her life depended on it. Yes I know I provide a channel list for 28.2 that suits closed source boxes so you may think I'm a hypocrite but I also provide multi sat for which keys can be used to clear channels without the need for any sharing. Just my way of giving a bit of something back. I do however encourage people to learn to it themselves hence my video tutorial and hope they might take their blinkers off and have a look at what's really out. A good example of plug and play brigade is my wife who barely ventures of a single sat on my tm but if that keeps her happy it leaves me the time to explore other things
