    Scanning Issues

I have a large motorised dish and have successfully scanned around 6 satellites, all working fine, however when I scan 4.8e for the Swedish channels I am getting a high BER and therefore no channel is working. Any ideas guys? Thanks

Hi.. When you say no channels are working do you mean they are scrambled or not tuned in???. Are you using USALS or 1.2 to move the dish and which 6 satellites have you tuned in??. Have you also got an up to date TP/channel list for the sats???. Have you tried a blind scan to see if you are on correct sat???

    Regards.

The dish is on a motor so it moves automatically. For example, I clicked automatic transponder scan and scanned around 6 satellites. .6w, 28.2e, 19.2e, 13.e. All channels work fine but when I scan 4.8e it finds all the channels but none of them work and the BER is really high which i presume is bad signal? Not sure why other satellitles would scan but this one wouldnt. thanks

alignment is out or usals co-ords are wrong... you only seem to be pulling in the powerful birds but the european beam on 4.8east booms in so you should be getting them. are you getting TET on 11.766.H.27500 FTA ? if not even though it says its on 4.8east its not... send the motor back to zero, switch off box for a couple of minutes then try again, regards mdt

Thanks for help. But not fully understanding as I am quite a novice. How do I check that TET thing? Also, how would I send the motor back to 0? Thanks

Hi. I am a bit puzzled as you say it tunes in channels from 4.8 east but yet none of them open. Can you give us a few channel names to confirm if its correct sat. Also what channel are you actually looking for?? Do you know the make of your receiver and motor?. Sending your motor to zero is not going to help you if its out of alignment. Have you tried to get 1west and 7 east which are next door to 4.8.
              Regards.
