Its literally the same receiver with just a different skin both run the same broadcom chipset and processor but the TM has more nand flash and memory also look for the TM-Nano-2t just released ?199

Personally though although TM have done a great job of keeping these reasonably cheap the VU's still trounce them for support

      Thanks Digicon

The support thing was my biggest issue guess it may be a vu+ ' if i' honest though the technomate seems a solid box and given there solid nature it may win me over.

TM actually has a good deal of support from the OE-Alliance and other images, just because BH dont support a receiver does not mean it's got poor support. P.S BH are paid for their support which is why they only work on Vu and Marusys hardware.

With the current price drop on the Duo which comes in now at ?199 my money would still be on the Vu Duo just because it has a far wider support base than what the Technomate has.

Would a powered external hard drive work just as well as a internal one on a Duo ?
            Thanks

Cant see why not external connections on the duo include 2 usb's and an eSATA port ideal for external HD's if you want a faster speed than USB

Got a TM Twin running latest vix.

Good solid box a few bugs here and there but very regular updates from vix which you can update through remote control very easily.
