How satellite boxes and software could make EPL better ---??

Hello All,

Just my thoughts - and I know there are a lot of issues with software, technology and cpu usage etc, but if the software and images could cope surely it would be absolutely great if we could have one tuner on whatever channel we are watching (say Fox Sports @ 13East) and the other tuner on the internet radio channels...

If that was possible, we would (assuming you had a twin tuner STB) be able to watch EPL on foreign channels with one tuner and listen to the radio and get it in sync by pausing on the other tuner. Solved the problem of foreign commentary.

if only it was that simple - I know, but if we dont push the boundaries or shine the light on where we want to go,,, we will forever be in the dark.

Nice thought fp but I think it would require the ability to set an offset time for radio instead of just pausing it. Mind you it wouldn't need to be perfect so I'm sure pause would suffice. I do think picture in picture of some sorts would also be needed to broadcast both picture and separate audio channel simultaneously. I'm sure someone could figure it out though

Just to let you know all the internet Radio UK local stations that broadcast a live 3pm commentary are Blocked i know cause i purposely bought a Yamaha RXV-673 A/V amp that lets you assign another source the the HDMI input.

so if my receiver is on HDMI 1 i can assign the inbuilt internet radio feed to HDMI 1 also which gives me Picture from the receiver but audio from the internet. As i explained above all Line Comms form Local UK stations are blocked.

I had to install an FM antenna just so i can get local Radio commentary now. LOL

I think what Digicon was pointing out is that MUTV is a TV channel, not a Radio channel.
The proposal of the OP was to try to get a box designed to allow Internet radio running at the same time as TV pictures & running both at the same time, but as Digicon also pointed out, ALL Internet Radio channels are blocked from broadcasting 3pm games so it could only be done using local radio, which might not be airing the game you require, also MUTV only broadcast United games, so wouldn't be any use for the majority of Premier League fans.

yes, deffo aimed at any game...... I have added my local radio stations to my radio boquet and it worked, so if the software allowed it, I am sure I would get that as it is a local radio station and not national.... Just an idea and I hope someone could take it up.

Although it is commentary, what you are essentially turning it into is 2 tv channels to on at the same time, although taking a picture from one tuner and audio from the other tuner.

I suppose what I was referring to, although very similar, was seeing if we could utilise the internet radio that is availble on the STB's to be used in conjunction with the picture from foreign channels.

Ok i found a Temp solution for the MUTV and CTV as well as any other 'TV' type commentary stations you will of course need a twin tuner machine preferably a VU+ and Blackhole installed:

Just a quick run through you have your game on the TV on tuner 1 you will need to setup the Virtual tuner Plugin for tuner 2 that is available in the blackhole image which allows you to setup another tuner on a different device laptop/PC/Tablet etc...

In theory this may work if someone wants to give it a go
