    satelitte freeview box wanted

I don't have an external areal but i want the freeview channels not the freesat channels , i want to view Dave. I've been searching around for a sat box that will connect to my dish and provides freeview. Any ideas guys?

    Thanks in advance for replies.

If you want Freeview, you need an external aerial & freeview receiver.

If you want Dave via Satellite, Freesat won't decode this channel as it is part of the minimum Sky tv package.

You can't get FREEVIEW on satellite, it's called FREESAT & Dave is not part of FREESAT.

So if you don't have an aerial, you'll need to pay to view Dave.

they do work but arent very good with digital freeview

there are no an*logue tv channels now here in the uk, everything is freeview through an aerial on your house from the terrestrial tv transmitters

as for dave, its free on freeview but not "free" on sly, on sly its in the basic paid for channel package so is scrambled and so not free on freesat or sly or anything else

post #2 said it all, if anyone in the uk wants dave on freeview for "free" , they need a freeview box or tv and an aerial pointed at the local transmitter like pontop pike or winter hill etc , depending on your location

that is the only legally "free" method of watching dave as fta here in the uk, and as most or all people with sat boxes here have a digital tv with freeview tuner, it needs an outside aerial adding , the one thing the OP hasnt got

its certainly not "free" on a vu , or any other satellite receiver

All is fine, one of the monkies stays a couple of weekends a mth, he wants tv channels to watch for 5mins a day. I thought if it was poss i could use it wen he's not up or down whatever direction he goes in. fed up having to use webif and rigging it to tv in b/room. freesat it is then.
