    Media Art 7 ULTRA

    Hi all

Looking for information on a box I've seen, I searched here but couldn't find an appropriate topic.

I couldn't find a lot of info on this box and wanted to know if anyone has used it yet. I spotted it on the back cover of What Satellite & Digital TV Magazine (January issue)

For those who haven't see it, it is an Android-based satellite receiver with XBMC and IPTV functions. From what I've heard so far it can use cccam, FTP, VPNs and Utorrent as well.

Has anyone had a chance to have a go yet?

Really good little box actually! I used to have a PC setup behind my TV for playing movies and streaming but I've been able to take it out now and just replace it with this as I can use uTorrent and an app called Torrent Tracker for getting torrents from The Pirate Bay which has a built in proxy. I think I still prefer VLC media player instead of XBMC for just playing media but both work great. I've also installed IPVanish to get on American Netflix.

I believe it's compatible with a range of motion controllers too for the games but I haven't had a go yet. I've not used the satellite side too much I've been sidetracked by the other features but the EPG and recording works as expected.

Hi fernofry, I have one of these boxes but have tried all week to get a vpn to work but to no avail. I have tried numerous vpn's but no luck, I have tried ipvanish but it wouldn't connect for me. Did you have to do anything special when setting it up and also what firmware are you using, mine is using v14.5

                  Hi all
                  re: media art 7 ultra
Just a little info for anyone with this box or considering buying one.
from the menu you can go to system update, press 4989 on the keyboard (new screen appears) and update to the latest upgrade firmware.
Once this is done, you can download everything you need from the android market icon which will be on the apps list.
There is xbmc, iptv, adobe flash, ipcam for your cccam or newcs, youtube, imedia player etc
Hope this is of help to anyone struggling with using this box. Ps channel list can up done in same way. all faves preset like the blade online.

hi folks - my mediaart ultra 7 boots but then displays an android message that 'Hybrid sat has stopped working' - click ok only -
also other 'has stopped working' error messages -

Gonna have to do a factory reset - can anyone point me in the right direction of how to do this or where I can obtain fiirmware for a reflash -

                              Thanks in advance
