Hi. My P is 52.47 / -2.05 and elevation is 28 for hotbird. But dish show 23 . I cant understand why is someone can help . Ohh also im using a motor usals. Thanks

the scales on dishes are not very accurate anyway and are only a guide. if setting up on usals use THOR 5/[email protected] using 10.778.H.24500 to find the satellite and peak your signal on 12.687.V.27500/12.687.H.27500. once you have the maximum signal send the dish to 45east(11.523.V.5787) and 45west(11.608.H.1850) to make sure its tracking correctly. patience is they key when setting up your own motorised system,regards mdt

Thank you for your help. Just another question how would i know the elevevation for thor .Should i take off 5 degrees off? . Thor is showing 30 on satfinder same as hotbird 28. So for hotbird 28-23=5. Thanks

u need to set up your dish and motor to thor 1 deg west thats your starting point then every other it will find hope this helps

the elevation you get from satfinder or the dishpointer app is generally for a fixed dish your main concern is that the latitude/elevation is correct on your motor which should be around 52/53 on the latitude markings. Then alter your dish elevation from anywhere between the 20 -30 mark to peak the signal on 0.8? west Thor

Just to update. I manage to get badr 26 with triax dish 88cm here in west midlands so no need for a 110cm dish. But i only got badr 4. I think to for badr5 and 6 it need a biger one and also i find out that al jazeera sports channels no long in badr ?.

seems you are learning fast , expect more changes for those sports channels soon, including card pairing with the official boxes

several other threads on here as regards those channels and satellites and the changes to stop people like yourself watching them

ahhhh dont spoil it,sports channels do seem to be a prime subject to stop others from viewing

On the 1st january 2014 , the al jazeera sport channels had a brand name change to BEIN sports.

And the FA premier league have announced that only one of the 3 pm saturday kick offs will be made available to broadcasters. Means that al jazeera sports will no longer be able to show all premier league matches.
