I am putting a TV in the kitchen I would like to watch channels from my skybox f3 which is in the lounge . what cables do I need and equipment

Would I need a sky line running into the kitchen ? Another receiver ? Which is a goof budget TV video sender and would I be able to change channels from both the lounge and the kitchen

You will only be able to watch whats on the box not two different channels on two tvs (one channel on two tvs) the cheapest way would be just to run coax from the rf out from the back of the box to the tv, but that way you would have to go in the living room to change channel if your remote wont reach,

On your tv they will be a certain channel number to receive the rf signal from the box.

You can either Hardwire it and use RG6 Coax cable with a Triax tri-Link or similar product which will let you control the F5 from the kitchen, Or as you say you could get a decent set of Wireless extenders and go that route.

Not sure on the Extenders as in whats good or bad but a more enlightened member may be of some assistance on this front

I would sit were you want to control the box from and see if the box excepts commands. put the box on say bbc1 go and sit were you will be sitting in the kitchen to watch tv then point the remote in the general direction of the stb to change channel then go back and take a look if all is well and channel changed jobs good,

If so most coax will do the job but better coax better picture good luck.

What do these video TV extenderrs do that you can buy from Argos ? There will be a wall partition . its a skybox f3 . I understand I won't be able to have different channels on each box but would it be possible to independly change the channels from the kitchen using the remote ? Or is that not possible .it doesn't matter if both tvs were showing the same thing ...

As long as the units are advertised as having an IR remote repeater, then you can control the box from the kitchen. The unit that transmits the picture/sound from the box will normally have a socket on it to connect to a lead with an IR diode on the end. This is placed near the IR detector on the box. You just point the remote at the video sender in the kitchen & it will control the box in the other room.

I have used the ones in tony_i's post. They worked well for me. The only slight drawback I found was that they are very directional, so I did get the odd bit of interference when somebody walked between the units. I was using them between the living room & an upstairs room though.

Don't be tempted to buy 2.4GHz units though. So many other devices use 2.4GHz that they were useless for me.
