pair card and box?

just got a new Sky+ box from boot sale going to take it to my mums at the weekend to change her old one over cos the RFOUT don't work. Once its installed how do i pair her card with this new box?

you will need to phone sky mate tell them your own box goosed ie rf not working and you want to swap boxes hope this helps

put the new box in m8...make sure its connected to the phone line...press services 4..0,1 select to get into installer menu..then do a call back(new installation)so sky server has record of your card in new box...then ring sky and tell them you have bought a box off an independant retailer...and they will pair the card to the box,and activate the recording...

Ok can you just run through how to get into engineers menu and what is the number to call once i have every thing connected and talking?

mate its far easier to just call the Sky technical help number and tell them you have a new box and you want your card pairing.. takes 3 mins max

the reason the rf out dont work is prob cos it not been switched on in the secret menu, the menu has been posted many times before so if you had done a search of the forum before hand then you may not have had to buy another box at all

well "WILF" for you information I did turn it on in the engineers menu and I also checked it with a multi meter to see if I was getting the 9v DC at the back of the box. So no need for a search after all ay.

3 mins to get SKY to pair card?? Can i have the number YOU call?????

Takes me longer than that just to get past the voice menus then hang on for operator etc. etc. etc.

Now i know why i cannot do an online self install. The box came from another address.

Will SKY enforce the HD subscription though, if i phone them and will i lose the option of upgrading my SKY+ box at a later date with a retention offfer?
