Setting up a Vu solo with a sly dish on 13e

Hi I got a sly dish that i want to point to 13e hotbird to get the footy,

what i want to no is can i use an F spliter so I can put the 28e slyuk & the new 13e hotbird in to the splitter then send that to my Vu solo box?

also I have never aligned a dish before, will I get 13e from that Sly dish from Belfast?

    Thanks

Don't think you can split a satellite cable or use an f splitter, you will need a diseqc switch with a feed from each dish going into the switch and one feed going to your receiver.

you will get some reception from a Zone 1 dish but it wont be very good for some of the weaker channels, for your area i would say a Zone2 60cm or a generic 60cm dish is probably better.

and as above to connect 2 dishes you need a Diseqc switch

        Thanks guys!

I think the dish I have is sky zone 2 cause my ant got a new one from sky & it looks the same size(unless they give her a new zone1)

I have never tried to set up a dish, so from the sly 28e would i have to move the arm up or down? a forum post said move it up to the top, is this true?

again I no it will be a lot of testing before I get a good signal on my box, but i dont have any tools to help,

I have a clear site to 13e so that should help!

        any advise would be welcome.

        Thanks

Diseqc 4x2 do exist but the only manufacturer i could find was EMP Centari which sadly is now discontinued, Most only support Diseqc XXXXX - 1 output now unless you go for a powered multiswitch in the loft

As i said previously i could not find any 4x2 switches but for you to actually record and watch another channel this would not have worked anyway.

What you will need is 2 twin LNBs on both dishes with 2 x 2/1 diseqc switches, so each switch will have 1 feed from each dish and each feed from each switch will go into back of Vu Duo

this will give you instant switching on both satellite tuners as well as the ability to record from one sat and watch another channel on a different satellite
