HDMI Splitter

Hello Everyone,

I am looking to split a signal from one open box to three TV's.

I have purchased this:

Duronic HS14 for those of you that know about the product.

and I am using a 1x2m HDMI cable and 2x10m HDMI cables. I guess what I would like to know is, could the splitter do damage to my TV with it's power supply? And what other dangers should I look out for when setting this up?

You need a triax modulator or get another box

All I really want it to do is just send the picture from one box (skybox f3), no need to change channels or anything like that.

So a triax modulator will allow we to send the picture from one skybox to three tv's through co-ax cable?

Would the method I suggested not work?

I think there is a bit of confusion with what I want to do.

As odd as it may be, I don't want the ability to change the channel from the other TV's, all I want to be able to do is watch the same channel from the one skybox.
The way I am trying to do it is by having a HDMI cable from the box going into the device (Duronic HDMI splitter), then have three outputs going into three different TV's.

So would the Duronic HDMI splitter cause any damage to TV due to amplifying the signal or the power supply to it?

Please read the specs one box 3 TV can get any easier if it's just a modulator you need without the extras I have a few in the attic

Modulator way is the cheapest and easiest?

I don't see why that HDMI splitter should cause any damage to your TV. Have you read the reviews? It seems to get a pretty good overall review.

The problem with using a modulator, is that the quality will be much lower than that through the HDMI splitter.

From reading at the very start of this thread from what i can gather the OP wants to distribute HD quality picture from his Openbox to 3 other TV's via 1 x 2m HDMI cable going from Openbox into Duronic HDMI splitter and then 3 x 10m HDMI cables to exisitng TV's

I have no idea where the mention of the Triax tr-link even came from seeing as it is of inferior picture quality compared to HD transfer as stated above by Hadron.

The Duronics wont cause any problems with the TV's as the power supply is merely acting as a Switcher type Booster for the HDMI outputs, I have not used this brand myself but have used 2 way HDMI powered splitters without any issues so i would imagine this will be absolutely fine.

My only cause for concern is the 10m HDMI cable runs seeing as your pretty much nearing the Limit in lengh wise to where HDMI could see loss issues unless you buy a quality brand HDMI cable and not some cheap ?7.50 jobby off ebay.

That's the way Digicon, two 10m connections and one 1.5m connection.
The cables I have bought are:

Excuse my ignorance, I did not actually know it mattered what HDMI cable was used...Perhaps this is why I have never been able to get 3D TV

cable quality does matter over large runs,usually splitters are used say for one room and 2 screens but not for other rooms in house,did i hear something like cat6 over hdmi is used to send cable to any room where needed and the socket on the wall looks like a hdmi port.some ideas below.

Interesting idea, did not think it could be done like that.
Hopefully the stuff I have ordered will do the job and no damage will be done.
I know I won't actually use the full 10m but didn't want to fall short, nothing more annoying that needing that extra 1m.

i ordered 2 lengths of hdmi cable as i was putting it behind box panelling and when i got to the other end it was 1 foot longer having taped them together every metre or so
new houses can be wired with cat6 to all rooms so everything is neat.
