Wats taking up my flash memory?

All of a sudden my box keeps crashing.
In information..memory.. Flash is like 108k free!
What is using all this memory? And i guess this is the reason for crashing? Everything as been fine usualy never let it drop below 20mb. I have external hard drive for epg so i know its not that. I recently installed cacheflush...could it be that? Although i uninstalled it my memory is still very low.

My box is vu+ solo running vix 808.

Really cannot be botherd reflashing as its took me ages to get as stable as i was anyone have an idea what it could be? I have also tried to restore my backup file but that fails. nightmare!

Ended up reflashing and now my box seems dead! I tried factory reset and then restoring settings but it got stuck in a weird loop and went off! Tried flashing three different images and used three different usbs! Ahhh! Just getting green light and blank screen. Anyone help?

did i hear plugins if you have loads on the box can drop your flash memory, and you double checked that epg was going to hard drive and not changed to flash.

I know i always keep my flash memory above 20mb. Wont let it go any lower and i always check it. When i cheked it said 108.8k :s god knows! And yes made sure epg was on usb. Ive packaged it away now benny but will give that a go in the morning and see if it shifts. Nice one

Could be a Victim of the Memory Leak fault which was apparent of the earlier Duo's but i thought this was fixed on the later models

That would expain it like the memory did seem to just vanish! Maybe they sold me an older model then who knows... Its on its way back anyway hopefully they send me a fresh unit

The memory leak has never been officially acknowledged by Vu+ never mind fixed, age of the receiver has nothing to do with it.

Linux treats free memory very differently to windows, in that it considers free memory as wasted memory, linux will always use the maximum amount of ram freeing up portions when requested by other parts of the OS.

I think you may have misread the op's problem R D. It was his remaining flash that had gone walkabout not his ram. Not that it matters now as he appears to have killed the box anyway. Hope he gets a nice shiny replacement with no hardware issues without to much trouble
