Help connecting a Humax box and skybox F5

Hi I have recently bought a skybox F5 and I have both cables from the dish going into the freesat box So I have taken one out of the Freesat box and put it into the skybox F5.
So when I put the Freesat box on everything works ok and same with the Skybox F5 my problem starts when I'm watching the F5 box and there is a program set too record on the Freesat box it doesn't start recording until I switch the F5 box off and turn the Freesat box back on then it starts recording
So basically I want to just keep recording programs on the Freesat which are on series record (I understand it will only record one channel at a time)but also watch the F5 box.Can someone advise a way that I can do this or if the method I've just explained should work or would it be easier to run another cable from my dish which has already got a quad Lnb on it?

Any advise would be a great help.

yes you have guessed it humax needs 2 cables and skybox needs 1 =3 cable feeds

for record only on humax run point 1 lnb to 2nd input on humax and number 3 from lnb to f5 or just add anthother feed so humax has 2 feeds from lnb 1&2 and f5 feed from number 3 on lnb
