    Advice and help needed

    Hi

I have been reading alot on these forums lately but need a little help and a couple of questions answered please.

I live in the North East of England and thinking about purchasing some equipment to keep away my boredom.

I am looking at the Technomate 1000 series.

80/90cm dish. Not looking at motorised just yet as sometimes I tend to get sick of a hobby.

My questions are - What channels can I open with a patched Technomate and will 80/90cm dish be adequate.

    Thanks in advance

Hi m8....90cm in makem land will be fine...the only thing you can get with the technomate at the moment is digi tv on 1west
and this has footie,~~~~,and films...the problem is they are changing encryption and we dont know how much longer it will stay open...maybe days..maybe weeks!!...so i would hang fire for now..

      Thanks.

Will wait until I know whats happening for certain before i shell out.
I watch most of the football at my local boozer but its costing me a fotune on beer.

Is there any other receiver I could get that would get me more when patched?

fixed single dish isnt worth it in this hobby need to get a motor on dish for best results and a receiver that is CS compatible and i say a dreambox any type with the 500s being the cheapest but are all clones.

yeah...theres the dreambox but you will have to find a pay server or hope 1 of the lads on here will give you their settings..
or there is 3 types of ip box you could have,,which one depends
on the chnls your after...ip boxes are the easiest to set up...you put a bit of s/ware on it (readily available) then plug it into your router and it opens tons of chnls...basicaly your box reads a valid card through internet connection....and most ip box servers are free too...

Suppose I could jump straight into a motorised setup. Was going down the fixed dish route incase everything goes tits up.

I was reading that alot of IP Box suppliers shut the servers down after a while. All I want is to be able to watch the away games when available.

thats correct....but they seem to come back again
after a month or 2...and say you bought a nanoxx it
could be used for newcamd pay servers if the freebie
              went down...
