    Purchasing new HD satellite receiver

    All,
At the moment I have a TM-5400 CI+ USB Super.
I must say that I am very disappointed with this.

I would like to buy a new HD sattellite receiver with better reception. My current receiver is not able to receive some sattellites and also is not able to find a number of channels.

    What receiver you would recommand?

is there any receiver that could record both satellites (hotbird channels etc) and usual UK TV channels (BBC etc).

    Many thanks for your advice.

I think we would need a little more information like what area/country what make of dish/lnb/size of dish and which channels which satellites do you want to pick up.

before anyone could give you an informed opinion

      Thank you Digicon.
      I live in UK.
      I usually use Hotbird 13E,
At the moment I am very keen to access IRIB channles on

      Hotbird 13E

      Frequency : 12437 MHz Polarization : Horizontal
      Symbol Rate : 27.5 MSym/s FEC : 3/4

I also use Eurobird 9 and Intelsat.

      Hope this helps

If you still want the ease of use type feature in a satellite receiver then i would recommend either the TM5402HD or the New TM F3/5 the latter has an IPTV feature, to be honest with you the 5400 has a very good tuner inside it even though its SD only.

The Frquency you mentioned is DVB-S2 so you will need some sort of HD receiver to pick that channel package up

I had in the past TM-5400 CI+ USB Super and it is excellent receiver, I don't know why you say you are disappointed with it. As Digicon say go for the TM5402 HD I use it and the tuner is excellent sensitive and will get you the IRIB channels you want (provided they don't got to a different satellite) by the way these channel were just added few day ago so you might need to update transponders or do full scan.
