No event synopsis information on Cloud Ibox 2 Plus EPG Menu (OpenVix Zeus)

I've installed PS2Gamer's OpenVix Zeus 005 on my Cloud Ibox 2+ and have enabled the following.

    AutoBouquet.
    CrossEPG (OpenTV 28.2)

Everything seems fine and is up to date but the EPG menus don't show any synopsis info. The space they usually occupy is just empty. I can see the synopsis for the current/next event if I press OK twice on a channel so it looks like it is there.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?

Reading between the lines it looks like a few bugs in the new image as other users using Zeus have also experienced the exact same on different receivers so your not on your own.

Give it time i am sure it will be fixed shortly

Cheers, I thought that might be the case. I did have a look around before posting this though but I couldn't find any other reports of the same issue.

one thing we learn never be in a hurry to flash boxes with new images for a few weeks to see the bugs that arise and get posted.

No Problem I think with this Brand new Image from the Vix team although probably tested first it is not until its released onto a wider user group with different receivers that Bugs in the image rear there ugly heads, This happens with all images and thats the point of having online updates to fix what people report as problems.

I'm otherwise happy with Zeus to be honest. It's my first time with Enigma2 but it seems to be generally stable and otherwise gets the job done. I've come across the odd issue with plugins here and there but I'm guessing those are going to be related to those plugins and not the fault of Zeus itself.

Would you recommend downgrading it to an earlier version though or should I be choosing BlackHole or Pli over Vix really? As I say, I'm new to Enigma2 although I did have some experience with Enigma1 a few years ago.

You could always try other images to see which you prefer and it is always advisable to make a backup of your working image at present so that if you dont like the new image you can just flash the backup straight onto it again.

As you get a bit more use to E2 and other images have a look for plugins like meoboot that let you have one main image in the nandflash and then let you boot between other images or try new ones that are stored on an external USB stick etc..

Meoboot comes built into blackhole but is available for other images

Great, thanks. I did take a full backup using the Vix built-in tool but I haven't tried anything else on it yet because the other posts I'd read generally suggested that Vix was the best image to use at the moment and I didn't realise that my one problem (AKA this one) was caused by Zeus itself therefore I spent quite a lot of time Googling and playing around with CrossEPG in an attempt to fix it.

Are there any other images that you would recommend in particular. Thanks again for all of your help by the way. I'll check out MeoBoot as well, that sounds particularly interesting.

                      Awesome, thank you.

So just to confirm, you ran an update from the system menu and it fixed it?

I did run a system update check last night and it applied quite a lot of updates I think but it didn't seem to fix this problem. I'll give it another try when I get home later though.

That's odd because I did an update at around 11:30 last night and the problem still wasn't fixed after that. I'll take another look tonight though, thanks.

EDIT: Yep, just as you said, I switched the box on today and it just seemed to magically display this info all of a sudden. Oddly it did so without any further updates despite the fact that the updates were installed yesterday and it didn't work then.

Weird but I'm happy with it now anyway, thanks.
