Help please With Motor set up

I have managed to install my 90CM motorised dish. Am using DM500s. I can get 28.2E, 19.2E, 13.2E and nothing else.

On thor 1W i cant lock the signal but when i manually scan transponder with BBC world i managed to lock onto that transponder and scanned for 22 TV services.

What should i do here as it seems all is OK with my dish set up but i cant lock into the satellite. Im using Darkstart image II

Assuming the pole is absolutely plumb,you must be off the arc slightly. If you are in the UK tune into Thor bbc world news, which is a strong signal and adjust the dish untill you get the best signal. All the other satellites should be ok from there.

Dont know your setup m8 but have you set your east and west limit's?..Have you stored the sat?..

goto the channel which doesnt work on thor and hit the info button twice then you should see ber reading! whats the ber level? the closer to 0 the better!

Dm500 is rubbish on using these USALS or DISQEC. I have stored the 3 satellites i managed to lock into so far and the motor can go back there from any position. The ''Go to'' function is not working. Yes i have set my areas longitude and latitude.

How to set up East and west Limits? For the west satellites my dish will only be able to move up to 10 west because of obstructions and it will move the whole of east.

if USALS is not working its only for 2 reasons

1) your motor doesnt support USALS

2) you havent set up the dish correctly.......99% sure it will be this.......you have to make sure your pole/bracket is 100% plumb straight all the way around..if wont follow the arc and lock on to satellites, which is whats happening in your case......I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.

Im getting a signal of 70+% on all satellites that are not locking. I read somewhere on this forum that one can get a picture with 20% signal.

My mate has a 1M dish with good signal all round. Can i go there and scan all the satellites using his dish then come back to mine and see if i get TV? Will this work? or i need a lock before any channel can be viewed?

You dont need to goto your friends Hpuse. there are a few channel lists (complete) in the dreambox section! use them!

How do i do this? Putting the channels into my dreambox? That will be a quick fix because i feel my signal is so high at 70% and above though not locking

you could go to your mate and try his dish and if your box works correctly at his you know yours isnt set up correct

i have another problem. im locking on 19.2e, upon scanning im getting BskyB channels. whats going on here?

your motor has been aligned all wrong!

on 13.0e im getting correct channels. Will take up a ladder tomorrow and see. My wall mountings are 100% plump. Maybe its a question of elevation and lnb
