    No freeview HD channels

    Hi

I hope I posted this in the right place, as I couldn't see any free view areas of the forum.

I will soon be getting a Skybox, but in the few weeks until then I have been using my Samsung PS43F4500 for free view channels. It is supposed to support inbuilt free view HD, yet I cant for the life of me get any HD channels at all from the scan. I have used the normal TV port on the wall to the communal aerial, and even connected it to the Sat1/Sat2 ports and still cant get any free view HD channels. The free view postcode advisor pages where you input your postcode all say I should be able to get the HD channels (BBC1 HD etc), but I dont

So the TV specs say it can get free view HD, the postcode says I should get HD signals, but I cant get them. Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks
    Vin

I assume you can get SD channels?Do your neighbours get HD channels? You may be better off posting on another site as I can't see anywhere on here for Freeview enquires but see what comes up.

Are you sure that it has a built-in HD tuner?

There's nothing on Samsung's website to say that this model has an HD freeview tuner.

Cheers guys. Yeah I can get the normal channels, just not the HD ones Mark. Hadron, Im not certain it does, and I am thinking maybe it has just normal freeview. I am getting conflicting information regarding whether its Freeview or Freeview HD. On Amazon its claiming it is HD freeview, on other sites just freeview, Samsung dont even mention it that I can see.

If you scroll down on this link it gives the specs of various models: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-PS43.../dp/B00BN8AEIQ .The 4500 is HD Ready and has Freeview HD. Must admit I've never used a Freeview tv but I can't imagine you have to do anything different to get HD channels??

Correction: If you look at the link more closely you see the 4500 plasma,43" is HD Ready but only has a Freeview tuner.

The 43" F4500 is Just Freeview Only and does not support Freeview HD, Although the Specification does say its HD ready which means its pixel area is 1024 x 768 it will support 1080i and 720p.

Just for information there are a few manufacturers now including Samsung,LG,Sharp etc.. that make HD ready LCD's with a FreeviewHD tuner built in sadly though yours is not one of them

Thanks again lads. I'm glad its sorted now, I'm not up or down about it not being freeview HD, as at least I know the problem now and dont have to work out what the problem is. When I had sky the HD channels played no worries, so when I get a skybox I should be good to go!
              Thanks again for replies
