    Will this setup be ok

    Hi

Been looking around the net and found this set up.

TECHNOMATE 3150D 80 CM MOTORISED SYSTEM - ?144.00 : Wizard Satellite, Satellite receivers, dishes, lnbs and equipment

I am mainly after sports and in particular football.

What channels will I be able to open? and on what satellites?

    Thanks for all your help

you will be better off getting a metre dish to replace the 80cm one.

you will be able to use Thor at the moment for free stuff ( using softcam and keys ) but i beleive they are changing to Nagra3 so you will be stuck with free channels.

Cheers for the speedy reply Aftermath.

Apart from an IPbox is there any other set up that will enable me to get more channels.

Like the set up above but with a different receiver?

I am new to the sat scene and looking to watch as much football as possible.

you can get almost any sat reciever and all will get you the same amount of channels, only thing to think of is, do you want HD channels, ?

1 DM600s is spot on for adding a hard drive for recording but only gets the SD channels.
          an IP910, 9000 e.t.c box or a DM800 , DM8000 will get you HD quality.

I recommend if money is no object go for an IPbox9000HD or if you want to spend silly money go for a DM8000

there is a new box just become available thats a lot cheaper and has HD but its at testing stages so you would have to help with the bug testing. If you PM satsearching he just got one, or search for his recent posts , if i find it i will add to this.

Thanks again for the quick reply

I am not interseted in HD. I have cable box so watch all movies and tv programmes through that.

All I want the sat for is football really so want to keep it as cheap as possible.

            Any suggestions?

the cheaper option is to get a dm500s mate, but to get these to do what they do best you will need to do alot of reading! the easier option is the protekk9600ip, these are plau and play(ish).
