satellite receivers

Hi all, this is my first post so please excuse me if I do anything wrong!
Basically I've just installed an openbox v5s in my bedroom and looking to replace my +HD box in the living room, but would like something a bit better. Ideally i'd like something that I can record on to, has an epg and is fairly simplistic to use (my parents will be using this and want things as easy as possible for them). Also, I have no experience in anything technical of this nature, I simply inserted my subscription details into the bedroom unit and that's all I know. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm based in Northern Ireland if that makes any difference?

vu duo is an older twin tuner box or its new faster solo2 model,its just the setting up the box is a little bit more difficult,once up and running great boxes.

hmm looked at link too cheap for original + hdd i am thinking hopefully others can say also.

my box came on wednesday and for the life of me I can't set it up. I had the FTA channels, then couldn't figure out who to put the unmentionable in evenutally ended up doing a factory reset.
My box won't connect to dreamboxedit, keeps saying there's an ip address error when I took the ip address directly from the adapter settings.
It's came with blackhole 2.0.9.1 installed already - can anyone help me? am ready to lose the plot here!

you do realise there is a VU set of forums on here ? with the info you need

check your router admin panel to see what the lan ip address is for dreamboxedit , make sure you change the options to enigma 2 for the correct paths
install an enigma 2 cccam and enable it , then copy what you need into the cfg file in var/etc , then restart the emulator

That add looks to me Extremely suspicious why would any reputable seller of Original vu's advertise them as a VU+Duo-Solo2

and especially when it says whats included you get a VU+Duo Solo2 looks very much like you have bought a clone

i would get on to ebay and get your money back as the seller advertised it as a Genuine solo2 and ?265 is Extremely cheap for a Solo2 with 500gig Hard Drive

you could contact VU with the mac address or serial number to see if they can help... do they still have to return the love clone checker built ito the images? could put the official fta VU+ image on it. seller states its 100% genuine with no quibble refund. regards mdt

hey all thanks for the replies. Got the box set up on Good Friday night and when I came home from work on Saturday it stopped working (red light). Due to Easter hols etc am only getting around to sorting the return now, seller had agreed to replace but turns out there is a stock issue and is giving a refund as I type. So am now on the market for yet another box, and would prefer to deal with a more reputable company this time. Think i'm going to stick to the vu range as I purchased an official wifi adapter and don't want to waste the ?28 spent on it.

new box has been ordered. have seen various recommendations for world of satellite so have used ebay to buy off them, kind for added protection.
