    AMIKO ALIEN2+ TRIPLE

    Hi,

Does anyone have an AMIKO ALIEN2+ TRIPLE satellite receiver?

I'm new to all this and would like to know if it is better than a Dreambox?

Also, would I be able to get 3pm Kickoffs and if so, what do I need to do?

    Many thanks in advance!

If your Comparing it to a Dreambox 800se then No they are in different leagues DM being better supported, for 3pm football you will need a large Motorised Dish or have a look down the IPTV route if it just for the football

If you want a twin or indeed triple tuner then the Alien 2 is a better buy than the Dm800se which is only a single tuner.
Enigma 2 on Alien 2 or the Golden Media Triplex ,which is the same receiver just cheaper to buy,is rock solid now.
Very nice receiver ,use it as my main receiver now ,I moved the Dm800se into the lounge ,Alien 2 is faster and just as stable.

If you are a novice to Enigma 2 receivers the Dm800se would be easier to setup but to be honest there are alot of other original twin tuners out there now worth looking at as well.

Ahh! Thank you! That is crucial, I do want to view one channel and record another, or steam a second channel to my bedroom! So that is VERY good to know. So I'm leaning more towards the Alen2 now

Which other twin tuner should I consider do you think?

Is there any other advice you can give or resource I can look at so I can get the most out of the box. I understand there is only so much we are permitted to say on the forum so pleas feel free to send a private message.

        Many thanks!

If you want a Twin Tuner and dont mind taking a Risk on a Clone then i would plump for a Vu Solo2 it will wipe the floor with the Alien2 and its Broadcom based so was designed to run Enigma2 correctly as it should be.

The Solo2 clone can be had for about ?155 delivered from China: Have a Look through this thread http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-clone-407320/

The Golden Interstar Xpeed LX2 is a decent receiver ,has a Broadcom chipset and a twin tuner, good support too.
The Giga Blue HD 800SE Plus is also worth a look ,both are under 200 euro.

Yeah thats an option but I wouldnt spend that much money on a clone ,its too risky.
You also have the risk of added customs duty and the supplied remote is rubbish ,you will probably need to buy an original.

The Gigablue Quad isnt much more than that and you have peace of mind although that seems to have been replaced by the more expensive Quad plus.

Alien 2 if you know how to set up are fine . E2 side is now stable aswell.

I believe you can now install an internal hard drive (see link)

Interesting but a bit expensive @?50.
An internal hard drive via sata would be nice as it offers better performance over an external drive.
