    Dish & LNB

I'm in Durham and want to setup a motorised dish for 13e, 19.2e, 28.2e and other satellites which has EPL games on, my wife don't want the dish to be bigger than 70cm, I have researched a bit with I think only two options for me at the moment which are Sky Zone 2 with Sky LNB or Triax 64cm with Black Ultra LNB, what are your thoughts?

The Zone 2 will need the rear mount adapting to be able to take a Diseqc motor your better option would be the Triax TD64. Personally i would probably try and aim for the TD78 just for that little extra and when thy are installed they dont look that big anyway

Which dish will have a better signal to 13e, 19.2e, 28.2e and other satellites during normal and rain weather?

the bigger the better , especially with an inverto ultrablack lnb fitted

I agree with digicon , get the TD78 as that will attach to a darkmotor or tm2600 no problem (the zone 2 wont)

I doubt my wife will let me, she doesn't want a big dish on the wall so 70cm is max I can go, which dish (Sky Zone 2 with Sky LNB or Triax 64cm with Black Ultra LNB) will have a better signal to 13e, 19.2e, 28.2e and other satellites during normal and rain weather?

Triax TD64 but in real harsh weather you may struggle with some of the transponders on 13? and 19? east as well as the weaker Eutelsat 28a Transponders until these are replaced by either astra 2e or 2G.

The advice given to go for the TD78 is solid as it is a good all round performer for the High Power satellites, And if your other half says 70cm is the max then whats 8cm between friends LOL

I thought north east geordies etc were tuff , grow a set and stick a 78cm TD up , this will easily attach to a motor , already told you the zone 2 sly dish wont attach to a motor so forget it if you want motorised , so put your foot down or get a new partner , - sheeesh !

put it on your half of the house wall

threaten to put up a TD110 like I did , then compromise at 78cm so you look good

also, get a very large 3d LCD or oled 3d tv and tell her the gardening and cookery programmes look better on it too

I would use a 80cm because dishes always look smaller in the air.

Does anyone know the weight and performance between a Triax 78cm and Technomate 80cm mesh?

roughly around the same weight and performance wise again should be around the same with no noticeable difference

I have just fitted a orbital dish and really happy with the performance, was a bit skeptical at first with the plastic mount bracket but was soon put right on here about that, and it pulls in great signal, if you can talk yer Mrs round try for 1 meter then you have more stuff to pull in and channels come on go move etc

I'm another that says go for the td78 as a minimum but one thing to remember is don't let the missus see the dish in the house when it gets delivered cause indoors even a 70cm dish will look huge. My missus about died when my td88 arrived but one up on the wall she didn't think it looked to bad but keep it as far away from any standard sly dishes or you will see the difference

I might go with the Technomate 80cm mesh since living up north, there will be quite a lot of wind so a mesh dish is more ideal than a solid Triax 78cm dish?

if you were going for the 1m then id say yes but you shouldnt have any probems unless you get very heavy winds and even then it depends on were its installed. id go with the orbital or triax 80cm, tm2600 or darkmotor and inverto black ultra lnb. good set of T+K brackets and a small piece of pole. you can get the lot for around ?110. if you are really concerned then bolt the motor through the pole and it wont move again(not around the pole anyway) regards mdt
