    cable

Just recently purchased a skybox f5, my problem is that the two cables from my sky satellite lnb which plug into the back of my sky hd box, I've split the two cables apart and plugged one into the f5 box but now my sky hd box can't be used. Am I right in saying to fix this, do I need another cable from the lnb to my sky hd box? Or can I use the loop input from my f5 box to the back of my sky hd box which would be a shorter length of cable. What connectors do I need as well please. Many thanks.

ideally you need another coaxial cable feed from the quad lnb on your sly dish to the f5 , and put the coaxial cables to the sly HD box back to how they were before

that way both boxes will work properly and independently of each other

the loopthrough could work if the f5 was placed on standby , but unless dealt with correctly your sly plus box may miss recordings and have other issues , especially when the f5 is switched on and functional , so I would avoid this idea

You could also put it into single feed mode via the secret menu (info in stickys I think) of course you wont be able to watch and record different channels then but until you get another cable your be able to use both boxes
