Bm5000s - need hard factory reset as forgot remote password?

first post so be kind!

ive lost loads of channels and need to re scan and update
BUT
the remote is asking for a 4 digit password. ive only had the machine 3 months from new and have never entered one i dont think
its not the usual 0000 or 1234
i cant do a thing without this code

is there a hard reset, ive backed all data up to my laptop

ive also contacted blade media via email and twitter in the past week but have had no response

any ideas guys??
