Hi. A few queries if you dont mind.
a) Where is dg9 9au???
b) What receiver and motor are we talking about??
c) You are moving from satellite to satellite but what are you actually getting??
Regards -
A- dg9 9au is lochans stranraer in southwest Scotland
B- I know it's a technomate motor not sure on model of it and I'm using a dm800hd se
C- when the tuner is fixed non usuals 28.2 I get everything on that satellite but when I use usuals and go to use 28.2 it moves the dish and I get nothing?Comment

Daft question but have you put a latest set of Catseyes bouquets.
Ive always used usals with correct long and lat, config mode simple, Mode Positioner.

Try Latitude: 054.868
Longitude: 005.015
Put Catseyes bouquets on and see if it moves to 13 or 19.

Exactly what I have in it with cats eye bouquets and when it moves I get nothing tune failed usually, seems dish and motor are wrong?Comment

Guessing you getting 28.2 ok? Is the dish definitely moving when you select a channel in Hotbird etc? Have you looked in satfinder to see if you have a lock or signal?
I'm no expert someone like Digicon or Ramjet might be better but I would get someone to look at dish when you try and move it.

Yeah get 28.2 but only when it's fixed with tuner, if using usuals when I go on 28.2the dish moves and then I get nothing? If I put longitude and lattitude in dm800hd se with usuals then move to 28.2 then go out to the dish and re align to 28.2 should sort it no?Comment

Most will tell you to swing to Thor 0.8 West and try and lock into BBC World News and take it from there. Maybe your pole aint plumb,

Should the motor be set to 0? And the lattitude on the side what should it be? Think its a setup problemComment

I'm sure Ramjet Dickb or Digicon will see this and give you some expert advice but first take a look in here it might help.

First rule of thumb is to mke sure your mounting pole is 100% Plumb on all sides, next when you attach the dish to the motor Stub these need to be aligned straight if you have a look on the Sub it will have a Line running down the front this is there to help you align the dish to the motor correctly.
Your Latitude is 54.8 so on the motor scale at the side aim to get the marker on either 54 or around 55, when complete you will notice the Motor is set on ZERO on its marker underneath this is not a satellite position it is there to aid you point the whole Motor/Dish assembly to your Due south position. Its always handy to have a look at:Here put your adress in the top with postcode press go and then on the second dropdown box underneath either select the Motek SG2100 or True South which are near the bottom drag the marker to your position where you have mounted the dish on your property and this will give you the direction in which to point the dish.Code:http://www.dishpointer.com/
After you have mounted the Motor/Dish to pole and pointed roughly due south return inside and move the dish to 0.8? west or pretty much any other satellite as you are using usals and the tweak the dish either up/down and the whole motor assembly either sightly left or right to peak the signal.
roughly to get you started the elevation on the dish should be somewhere between 23? and 30? again adjust to peak the signal
