hi guys, have this box and having trouble connecting to file zilla or dm edit. asking for a user and pass and I don't know it? what is it or what can I do. and also is the port the ip address

also am I coneecting right I have put one Ethernet into router and one into box nothing working

have you tryed username > root and passsword > dreambox

I have tried it not having it, wont let me get onto filezille or dreambox edit or anything, I am connected up on dcc but saying user an dpass is wrong, what do I do? all I need to get onto do is to put a file on and update channs. cant even do that ! what can I do

if using filezilla you checked box for correct ip address and entered it correctly?

yes just copied what it says on the box exact, when trying to ftp something it said username and password was wrong.

on the box it ends in .97 that's what I have done , written it exactly like the box btw

on the vu is root and other is left blank.

dependant on your previous image did you install it or did you buy the box pre-flashed as it could be a trader image which they have locked using a different username / password as westkill rightly stated the default for a DM is User:root password:dreambox

not my box mate doing for a friend but the image on the box is and says '1.9. date : 04/5/11

Sounds like a trader image that has been locked with a different user / password if so then your only option is to reflash via RS232 Null Modem and if using on a static fixed 28.2? east dish then flashing with Commando 15.0c and you wont go far wrong
