DM800 HD WIRELESS WIFI!

Any one got experience with this type of setup. let me explain.
A friend of mine has a dm800 HD clone lives in a block of flats has no Wi-Fi in his flat everything else perfect I have suggested he ask someone within close proximity if he gives a donation can he use their wireless network. or use a dongle for his network.

I have not used a setup like this on the first setup to receive Wi-Fi what sort of usb dongle is best. on setup two can he just use his dongle that he uses for his laptop.

and if so which is best and how would these be setup on the DM800 HD.

Dont see why he cant use the dongle he has never used the wifi on mine before but he should be good to go

I suspect its got nothing to do with the box but everything to do with any image that is installed, which may include usb wifi drivers for certain types of wifi dongle like the ones used in laptops from routers or ones used to access the internet (like with sim cards etc). or you use a mobile internet dongle in a suitable "dongle router" where it has the drivers built into its firmware (like the edimax)

not tried them myself, but am sure its all based around compatibility and drivers, same as printers

If you don't have any wifi drivers on DM 800 you can use this: Vonets VAP11G WiFi Bridge Dongle - Wireless Networks Access Point: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories Just set it up on your laptop using the usb then plug the ethernet into DM 800 and plug the usb into any socket for power.Cheers
