Skyboxes , whats the difference between all these versions ?

I'm on the hunt for a couple of boxes (I have an F3) so I'm looking around and I find and there's about 4-5 different versions of the skyboxes floating around. What's the actual difference between all these skyboxes and the F3 skybox ?.

Also , I read about sound fix out of sync stuff and FW fixes for the F5s but I've never had an issue with my F3 with Libertview on it and do they all take the same channel lists as the F3 ?
reason is , I can't find anywere in the UK who sell the F3, their like rocking horse poo without a gift

I'm wondering if to just buy the F5s as their easy enough to buy but I don't want channel & FW problems from the off as their for relatives who as normal they expect me to fully maintain everything that requires power and internet + TV till they die

oh and throw in the Openbox V5s as well cause their dirt cheap

I am assuming that all the other variants like the Openbox V5s,Libertview etc.. will all be identical and just name changes from the original Skybox F3s/F5s.

If your more comfortable with the original F5/F3 then our friends in the PRC seem to be the only choice of these now

All Openboxes/Skyboxes use the same channel list format, apart from the openbox X5 & skybox F6, so I would avoid those 2 boxes.

If you want a better EPG, then the F3s & F5s can use XMLTV EPG which is downloaded & stored on a USB memory stick or USB hard drive. It will give a 7 (or is it 5?) day EPG. It's not perfect, as a few channels are missing & it goes a bit wonky round about midnight, but it's still better than the now & next.

There were problems with a few channels having "sound but no picture" on the F3s & F5s, but this has been fixed in the latest software, along with a fix for the "1 hour" problem in the EPG.

btw..if you just want to keep the now/next EPG on the F3s/F5s to keep the box simple to maintain, then there's an option in the menu to do so, otherwise the 7 day EPG has to be regularly downloaded ( the auto EPG download option doesn't always work).
