what dish size for Northern Ireland? HOTBIRD 7A/ASTRA 1H THOR3
Hello, Beginner here so forgive the stupid questions. Looking to know what size of sky dish I would need in Northern Ireland to receive Hotbird 7A/8, Astra 1H,1L and Thor 3/5?
Hiya, I'm picking them up easilly on a Fracarro Penta 85cm dish just outside of Lisburn.
I used to get them on a 1 metre orbital dish. So I'd say you would comfortably get them on a 90cm.
Edit: just re-read your post and you want to get them on a Sky dish! Try going to _www.dishpointer.com. Put your address in, then just down the page a bit there is a link to open a new page which will tell you what you can expect to receive and what size dish is needed for your area.
thanks for you help socktug. the sky dish was a mistype. its just a dish im talking about. Was looking at the fracarro 1 metre offset. Would this be suitable and is it easy to mount with motor?
I'm not familiar with that dish, but I'd imagine it would be no harder than any other 1m dish unless it's particularly heavy.
In general setting up a motorised system can be a bit daunting at first, but as soon as you get that first channel up on your screen, you'll love it! It really is very easy though.
Just take time to read the guides here on setting up a motorised dish, and spend loads of time to make sure that you get your mounting pole 100% vertical!
Regards dishes, I have a preference for the Penta 85cm, it looks quite a bit smaller than a 1m dish but in my opinion performs better than the 1m orbital dish I had...
