These issues are well known and are directly attributed to a botched bootloader and driver set by Gigablue, the ball is firmly in their court to fix this cockup, It's a great receiver and I have one my self but Gigablue are not the best when it comes to promptly addressing bootloader and driver issues.

Mine is a quad plus as well digicon and I've just left it in the menu screen for a good 5/10 mins and stayed watching it this time but no flickering. Mine is a very early version from germany so I'd assume if any were going to have a dodgy bootloader it would be an early one. Who knows we all know these electronic thingys can be fickle at the best of times. I can only think it is taking you too long to fix what you've broke

Thanks for the Feedback as i said previously it does not do it all the time it may happen once or twice a day and can go for hours without a hitch so i am assuming what RD is saying about the Corrupt Bootloader and drivers is correct as has been reported by a lot of the OE alliance teams.

Now just waiting for a Fix

Yep they have acknowledged the problem and are looking into it now, although how long it will take to fix is any ones guess.

I reported this to OpenATV who reliably informed me that they where awaiting new drivers and kernel so they could implement them into the newer image.

I also now seem to have this problem on 4.1 and from reading feedback i am not the only one experiencing this, I thought it could be a problem with the receiver so i may try a version 4 image and then report my findings to Gigablue themselves
The biggest problem at present is with the quads if you update the boot loader it tells the box it is overheating and crashes the box also all recordings glitch when played back as I understand it the boot loader only boots the box up and starts the kernel after that it stops until you re-boot again so I am presuming its not the boot loader mainly a software issue.
but to be on the safe side I wouldn't update drivers or anything else until gigablue sort out the problems.

just read on gigablue forum some people having a similar problem with the 4.2 image and reverting back to 4.1 on giga plus.

Touch wood i have reverted back to 4.1 and so far its behaving itself although i only use the receiver when the footy is on, I should try and use it for longer periods of time and see if it behaves itself properly
