    Best reciever for motorised dish.

I've recently bought a 1 metre motorised dish and was wondering what is the best reciever to use with it. I currently use a skybox f5 with my fixed dish and read that this box wouldn't be suitable. Also I was wondering what sort of price I would be charged to have the dish installed...bear in mind I have all the fittings for the dish...just need it fitted. Just a rough estimate as I don't want to be ripped off.

a lot of installers give free quotes, most local anyway give them a call tell them what you have got, I know over the phone you cant hold them to exact price till they see your location etc but they should be able to give you a ball park figure.

what's the make of the motor and the dish and the lnb? And your lcoation ie roughly. Also what sats do you want to get and why? Have you a clear view of the sky looking southwards ie all tall trees or buildings?

you dont say your location, name of motor, ie dark motor, technomate, motek , you know the name on the box, a lot of people are going the iptv route for football now, by the way if you say your location roughly we may even know an installer but if you are in europe ?????

edit your thread and just say midlands, you will get 42east to 30west at your location and with a good installer, some of 7west. And install should be around 150, you need a job well done, so do it properly from the outset. A pole with 2 x t&k brackets is the usual method so holes need drilling, then you need cable runs. it all takes time and time is money.

There are so many receivers out there now its a minefield. To start you off I would recoomend a spiderbox 6000hd, it does USALS to drive dish as well, you wont know what USALS is but basically you put in your location cordinates to box and the sofwtare caculates the exact location for each satellite from your lcoation. And it makes an install much much easier. DISEQ1.2 is really old now, in that you have to move dish to each satellite location and save it. The receiver actually moves the dish. You need to do quite a bit of reading up. All the receivers usually need a bit of interaction with the user, ie load sofwtare, load channel lists. Some suppliers configure box for you as well. look at wos = world of satellite.

if you get brackets get some with not a lot of welds, I had one go in the winds ,less weld less Weakness I got some similar to these if you are above the roof,
