    Italian channels Rai 1,2,3

A friend who is italian and staying in the UK had these channels via a FTA box and sat dish until recently. They have now scrambled. I am trying to help retrieve them for her. Does anyone know of any issues or if it is possible to get them back again. Or can point me in the right direction?

you could get a new box like this one

    TIVUSAT Italy Card and TOPFIELD SBX-3100 Receiver (Pre-Activated) - ?137.00 | SatEuropa

or a cam/card combo which is a bit cheaper but make sure the card is pre-activated if you dont have a valid italian address for the activation set up,regards mdt

How do I go about the card and cam route? Friend has family in Italy so getting the card shouldn't be a problem. What box is best/cheapest option?

Hi RAI1 RAI2 and RAI3 are opened most of the time unless their show a progarmme which requires encryption ie a football match. The HD version of these channels are always scrambled. To open them you need an italian address with a fiscal code so you can purchase a Tivusat box and card. Price i believe go from 90 to 120 euro's. My advice is to get an HD box for future transmissions. The card will need to be activated in Italy with the phone number they give you or via the internet. Be aware that if you or family members have not paid the tv licence fee in Italy for that address you will be refused access and may cause you problems. You can purchase a Tivusat and card in the UK but will cost you a lot more.

        Regards
